In a significant development for Mackay’s industrial landscape, Key Solutions Group, a prominent mining and agricultural engineering firm, has secured a substantial boost through a $500,000 grant from the Miles Government’s Manufacturing Hubs Grant Program.

Expanding Capacities, Creating Jobs

This injection of funds will facilitate the acquisition and installation of cutting-edge machinery, including two Motoman AR1440 series welding robots, Power-Trac seam finders/trackers, and rotary screw compressors.

The move is poised to enhance Key Solutions Group’s manufacturing capacity, subsequently fostering the creation of up to eight new jobs and the upskilling of 28 existing employees.

Driving Efficiency and Growth

Specialising in pipe welding, repairs, and component manufacturing, Key Solutions Group plays a pivotal role in servicing Mackay’s critical mining and agriculture sectors.

The investment is expected to yield substantial benefits, with a projected reduction in production costs by 30%, and stimulating private sector investment exceeding $1.2 million.

Government’s Commitment to Manufacturing

The Manufacturing Hubs Grant Program, a cornerstone initiative of the Miles Government, has already catalysed growth across Queensland, supporting 63 projects and generating over 1,400 jobs.

Minister for Manufacturing, Glenn Butcher, emphasised the pivotal role of such initiatives in fortifying Queensland’s manufacturing sector, paving the way for enhanced resilience and competitiveness.

Local Impact and Endorsement

With Mackay’s economy heavily reliant on the resources sector, Minister for Resources and Critical Minerals, Scott Stewart, commended Key Solutions Group’s innovation and versatility.

Member for Mackay, Julieanne Gilbert, echoed sentiments of support, underscoring the tangible benefits for local businesses and employment opportunities.

A Leap Forward in Growth

For Key Solutions Group’s managing director, Frank Attard, the grant signifies a pivotal moment in the company’s growth trajectory. Anticipating significant efficiency gains and expanded service offerings, Attard hailed the project as instrumental in realising the company’s broader strategic objectives.

The investment not only underlines the government’s commitment to fostering growth and innovation but also underscores Mackay’s position as a thriving hub within Australia’s dynamic manufacturing landscape.
