Funding and support available in 2026 Rural Women’s Award

What’s happening?

Rural women are encouraged to apply for the 2026 AgriFutures Australia Rural Women’s Award. Applications are open now and close Friday 7 November 2025.

Why it matters

The award provides not only recognition but also practical resources and funding to help bring innovative ideas to life.

Local impact

Queensland finalists will benefit from a $2,000 grant provided by the Queensland Country Women’s Association, as well as alumni and development opportunities.

By the numbers

  • $15,000 Westpac grant for each state winner.

  • $20,000 to the National winner and $15,000 to the runner-up.

  • $2,000 provided to each Queensland finalist.

  • $7,000 Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant for women preparing for future opportunities.

Nicole McNaughton, Queensland’s 2025 state winner, said the award has allowed her to grow personally and professionally.

“It’s given me the opportunity to grow personally and professionally while connecting with an inspiring network of Queensland finalists – the inspiring Libby Cook-Black and Angie Nisbet,” Ms McNaughton said.

What to look for next?

Applications for both the Award and Acceleration Grant close 7 November 2025 via the AgriFutures website.
