What’s Happening?
Mackay Regional Council has opened its Community Grants program for community and not-for-profit groups across the region. Funding is offered through Small Equipment, Community Impact, and Infrastructure and Assets grants.
The program can support practical purchases and projects that benefit the wider community. Each category covers a different type and level of need.
Why It Matters
The program covers vital health and safety outcomes, transport needs and equipment purchases. Community Impact funding can also support programs, maintenance projects and new fundraising events.
This broad coverage allows groups to seek funding that fits the work they are planning.
Local Impact
For practical needs, Small Equipment funding can cover computers, office equipment and kitchen appliances. These purchases can assist groups with their daily activities.
Meanwhile, larger funding may cover minor infrastructure, concept development and major equipment purchases, including vehicles.
By The Numbers
- Small Equipment Grants provide up to $1,500 for smaller purchases needed by community organisations.
- Community Impact Grants offer up to $10,000 for programs, safety work, maintenance and fundraising events.
- Infrastructure and Assets Grants provide up to $30,000 for minor infrastructure and major equipment purchases.
