The Queensland Police Service (QPS) celebrated a record-breaking year for recruitment, welcoming 122 new first year constables at their final graduation ceremony of 2024.
This brings the total number of new officers inducted in 2024 to over 940.

First Year Constable (FYC) Emmanuel Andruga, who immigrated to Australia from Uganda in 2010, credits the QPS’s Multicultural Recruit Preparation Pathway (MRPP) program for his success in the recruitment process.
As he stated, “The MRPP was instrumental in me settling into the mainstream recruit training program with ease. In addition to supporting my recruitment journey, the MRPP program allowed me to build strong peer networks and gain a better understanding of policing in Queensland in a supportive and small group setting.”
