What happened?
The QRSS State Championships (Athletics), held in Brisbane from October 11-14, saw Mackay State High School students Adison (Year 12) and Oren (Year 9) achieve outstanding results, showcasing their athletic talent on a state level.

These achievements highlight the dedication and athletic prowess of our students, demonstrating their ability to compete at the highest level in Queensland.
The leadership displayed by Adison as a team captain and Oren’s incredible performance in securing a State Championship title reflect their outstanding commitment and skill.

By the Numbers

Adison, a Year 12 student, was honoured to be named one of the captains of the Capricornia Track and Field Team. He placed 4th in both High Jump and Long Jump and proudly secured a BRONZE medal in the Triple Jump.
Oren, in Year 9, returned home with three State Medals: BRONZE in the 4 x 100m Relay (13-15 years boys), BRONZE in Triple Jump, and GOLD in Long Jump, crowning him a State Champion!
